Judith C. Martin

Judith C. Martin, age 73, of Sylvania, passed away Sunday, May 31st, 2009 at Flower Hospital. She was born March 12th, 1936 to Clarence W. and Dorothy (Theiss) Hawkey in Barbarton, Ohio. Judy was a telephone operator employed with Flower Hospital, retiring in 2005. Before moving to Toledo, Judy was a longtime resident of Akron, Ohio and a graduate of Norton High School, Class of 1954. She was a devoted member of Lewis Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed attending the "Primer Timers". She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother, cherishing the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Mack S. Martin in 2007. She is survived by her loving children, Bill (Michelle) Martin of Waterville; Tim (Debbie) Martin of Temperance and daughter, Melissa (Al) Bricker of Sylvania; grandchildren, Timmy; Tyler; Haley; Betsy; and Katie Martin; Alan Jr. and Nikole Bricker; brother, Clarence "Bill" Hawkey, Jr. of S. Dakota and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-5:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Thursday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, 6320 Lewis Ave., Temperance, Michigan. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Hobbins. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzeheimer's Association in memory of Mack Martin.
