Judith Ann (Pleasant) Brett, age 63, a longtime resident of Toledo, became an angel, Friday, August 14, 2009 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. She was born September 10th, 1945 to Roy and Lucy (Sizemore) Pleasant in Stonega, Virginia. Judy was a psychic, speaking on several local radio stations providing readings and advice to callers. She was also a spirit inspired song writer and author publishing several books, one titled "My Spirit Helpers" and a children's book titled "Momma Puffy". Judy enjoyed helping people with her talents and time. She also authored the website, www.pleasantinspirations.com. This is where she kept in touch with many of her family members and dear friends. Judy was also an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and also enjoyed playing the slots at the casinos.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Bob Brett; daughter, Vicki Gies of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughters, Bridgette (Jason) Leichty of Rossford, OH and Wendy (Doug) Queenan of Toledo; grandchildren, Kelsey; Michael; Riley and Adison; siblings, James (Rosemary) Pleasant of Kingsport, TN; Betty Pleasant; June Shuman and Linda Rogers and many nieces, nephews; dear friends and Kitty Sunshine. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Pleasant; Ruthie and James Anderson; James "E.C." Pleasant; Gertrude Depue; Zene Branson; Curly Rogers and forever companion, Boots.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
