Juanita V. Raney, age 87 of Toledo passed away Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 28th, 1924 to K. Cypert and Ressia (Gray) Cypert in Marshall, Arkansas. Juanita married Rev. Leonard G. Raney on February 14th, 1943 in Oklahoma and together they shared 68 loving years.
Juanita will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; sisters, Hazel (Paul) White, Faye (Arthur) Wahl, Ires (Dallas) Roberts and Beatrice Cypert. She leaves behind her three children, Glenn (Lana) Raney, Juanita Fae (David) Fisher and Pearl Raney; four grandchildren, Rachel Wesley, Ressie (Jimmy) Mowrey, Christine Fisher and Melissa (Eric) Goyette; five great-grandchildren, Tyler K Raney, Kaylee Mowrey, Gunner Weaver, Todd Wesley II and Alexandrea Wesley; brother, J.D.; sister-in-law, Alnita Cypert of Glenpool, OK and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Her greatest joy was having visits by her family and preparing great meals for those family get-togethers. Juanita and her husband ministered in a local nursing home for over 30 years. God gave her a special talent for sewing and paying close attention to detail. Among some of her unique projects were her son's three piece suit for his wedding and her daughter's wedding dress. Juanita also enjoyed working on crafts such as embroidery, painting and loved gardening. In the late 70's and 80's Juanita provided foster care for several infants.
The family will receive guests on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at The Lighthouse Church, First Assembly of God, 2324 W. Alexis Rd. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Officiating will be Pastor Jack L. Branham. Interment will follow Springfield Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice or a ministry of the donor's choice.
