Joyceann (Joyce) E. Wisniewski, age 78, of Toledo, passed away January 20, 2024, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. "Grammy" was well known for her attractive and outgoing personality. Joyce made conversation anywhere she went because of her genuine and sincere interest in others. Her friends and family would describe her as compassionate, loyal, loving, and delightful - and appreciated her sense of humor and candor. Her bright spark will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Joyce resided at Genacross Lutheran Village Wolf Creek Campus for the past several years, touching many lives with her friendliness. She always lent an ear to fellow residents and aides, and she was truly appreciative for the care given to her.
Joyce was born February 7, 1945, in Toledo to Betty (Gerber) and Gene Adams. She was a graduate of Scott High School. Joyce worked for several years as an aide at Villa North Nursing Home, as well as the Alternative Learning Center in Toledo before beginning her career as a personal caregiver to the elderly. For 25 years, she provided care to several individuals until they passed on, treating each one as a member of her family.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Lisa Wisniewski, and Lori (Christopher) Harrington; brothers, Ronald (Ann) Adams, and Larry Lane; grandchildren, Austin, Hailee, and Spencer Distel, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wisniewski, and brother, Robert Thompson.
The family will receive guests Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
