Joyce Sheehan-Bannoura

April 13, 1937 — November 3, 2015

Joyce Ann (Sheehan) Bannoura entered eternal life on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015. Her spirit is carried on by her five children (Timothy Watson, Theodore Watson, Korrie Benedict (Sheehan), Margaret Sheehan, Thomas Sheehan), 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren (whose photos she would share with prospective friends in the checkout line), and an extended family of friends all over the world. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Joyce during her 78 years, among them: there are so many beautiful things hidden in plain sight every day, you just have to be aware enough to see them.

Other key '"Joyceisms'": If someone needs a place to sleep or eat while getting on their feet, open your door and help them out. Pass on knowledge and experiences you've acquired in your life in hopes it lends a new perspective to someone who needs it. Find ways to make music lyrics apply to as many things in life as humanly possible. Never assume to know what someone is going through, you may make a colossal difference in his or her day. Explore every church possible and listen to all the knowledge that exits in this world. Invite new friends to Thanksgiving dinner. If they are from another country and you have trouble understanding them, learn to "listen with an accent." Write to those who no longer live in your city and have lunch with the cognitively challenged. Make the car dance by lightly tapping the brakes to the beat of songs on the radio. Sing songs even when you don't know the words. Take clips from magazines and newspapers you've already read and send them to your grandchildren so they learn something new and know what's going on at home. Don't ever give up.

In her lifetime, Joyce made sure to experience and explore everything she could. Those who've taken her lessons to heart will continue to ensure that music is inserted into all aspects of life, displaced children have a couch to sleep on and food in their belly, and to never stop exploring.
