Joyce Phyllis Justus

Joyce Phyllis Justus age 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away with her son by her side on August 2, 2024, at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania. She was born in Toledo on December 26, 1941 to Fred and Phyllis (Bashore) Holley. 

Joyce was a proud 1959 graduate of Waite High School. She was employed by Foodtown and worked in the produce department and in the front office for 30 years. Joyce enjoyed camping at the Lazy River Campground in Pioneer, OH, sewing many Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, cooking her favorite dishes including authentic Chicken Paprikash, and baking homemade Christmas cookies. She devoted most of her time to her loved ones, and especially cherished her time with her grandchildren. She possessed an unabashed personality and always lit up a room.

She is survived by her son, Craig (Kelly) Justus; grandchildren, Joe (Savannah) Justus, Taryn (Jordan) Hilgefort, Chad (Rachel Thyne) Justus, Robbie Justus and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Janet Wesley; brother, Norman (Connie) Holley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr., son, Robert Jr. and sister, Carol Ann. 

Family and friends will be welcomed at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life for Joyce and Bob will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH.
