Joyce E. (Swanger) Dixon

On Friday, November 27th, 2009 heaven opened it gates to another angel. Joyce "Peg" Dixon passed away at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 2nd, 1930 to Arthur and Mazie (Jackson) Swanger in Fremont, Ohio. Peg was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, cherishing the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and Holidays were filled with wonderful memories. Many summers are remembered with family cook-outs and vacations. Peg was a warm and loving person who was endearingly referred to as "Grandma Dixon" by all who knew her. To know her was to love her.

In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Eugene Dixon and siblings, Donald Swanger; Ruth Decker and Eileen "Toots" Lee. She is survived by her loving children, Doug (Trisha) Dixon; Daryl (Terri) Dixon; Doyle (Susan) Dixon; Diane Dixon and Drew (Jennifer) Dixon; grandchildren, Dana (Ty); Donny; Devan (Herman); Danielle; Desiree; Darci; Andrew; Zachary; Skyler; Dakota; Taylor; Ashley; Austin and Alex; 5 great grandchildren plus 1 great grandson on the way; sister-in-law, Bev Trumbo; brother-in-law, Al Lee and many nieces, nephews, wonderful neighbors and dear friends. Also surviving are Peg's beloved cats, "Charlie" and "Violet".

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Wednesday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Emmanual Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Snyder. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or a pet shelter.
