Josephine May

Josephine M.J. May, age 89 of Toledo passed away Saturday, December 17th, 2005 in Lake Park Care Center. She was born March 27, 1916 to Anthony and Michalina (Sobszak) Szyskowski in Saginaw, Michigan. Josephine was employed with the former Grace Smith Pastry Shop and Lucas County State Bank for many years until retiring in the 60's to care for her husband whose health was failing. Josephine was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, cherishing the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Clarence G. May; brother, Steve Szyskowski and sisters, Verna Zieman; Dorothy Bowers; Mary You; Helen Falor and Eleanor Gurzynski. Josephine is survived by her son, Marvin O. (Ella) May of B.G., KY and daughter, Evelyn (Dick) Johnston of Toledo; grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) Johnston; Joel (Joy) Johnston; Michael May and Kimberely (Mark) Posey; 7 great grandchildren and brother, William Szyskowski.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor David Claassen. Interment will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY.
