Josephine "Jo" Charchol, age 87, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Kingston of Sylvania. She was born March 18, 1919 to Joseph and Josephine (Dusik) Klepac in Ford City, Pennsylvania. Jo was a founding member of Christ the King Church and a member of the GBU. She enjoyed music of all sorts, traveling with her husband Michael, as well as gardening. Jo loved to cook for her family, friends and for her husband's associates, never needing recipes or measuring spoons. She inspired her grandson with her precious talent. Jo also sold Avon for several years. She was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren, caring for them as if they were her own kids. Most importantly Jo treasured sharing her life with her family, giving them many special memories. Jo was a special person always putting others needs before hers.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage, Michael J. Charchol; infant daughter, Christine; sisters, Mary Gacik and Mildred Radocy and brothers, Joseph and Paul Klepac. She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Darlene) Charchol; Judy Charchol; Larry Charchol; Darlene Busse and Kimberly (Ray) Kowalinski; sister, Anna Moras; grandchildren, Kelly and Michael Charchol; Michael and Brian Busse and Brad and Craig Kowalinski and 6 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 pm. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
