Joseph Simpson

Joseph C. Simpson, age 71, of Toledo passed away Wednesday, August 24th, 2005 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born December 26th, 1933 to Joseph and Mamie (Williams) Simpson in Suwanee County, Florida. Joe was a former member of the Teamsters and also worked at the Toledo Jeep for several years. After retiring Joe began training and racing horses and continued doing this for more than 20 years. Joe was also an avid golfer and enjoyed his times on the courses.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Simpson; brother, Wyatt Simpson and sister, Jean Stanfield. He is survived by his sisters, Dolores Jones of Ocean Springs, MS and Judy Willoughby of Scottsboro, AL, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 1-3:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the AHEPA Apartments at 1865 W. Alexis Rd.
