Joseph P. Poskarbiewicz, Sr. age 67, of Toledo, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was greeted not only by his Heavenly Father but by his son, Joseph P. "Joey" Poskarbiewicz, Jr.
He was born on September 18, 1949 to Stanley T. and Mary (Swiderski) Poskarbiewicz in Toledo. Joe was in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Joe married Loretta in Toledo on September 22, 1979. Joe had a servant's heart and a passion for the homeless and forgotten, but most important to Joe was caring for his family. When he wasn't spending time with his family he could be found rooting for his beloved OSU, the Indianapolis Colt's and Oakland Raider's, taking his children on bicycle rides to the park and UT. He was an avid reader, lover of history and telling the legends of "Hoppendupie" to his children. He was employed with Ryder Trucking and Leasing.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Joey, Jr.; siblings, Doris Johns and Ollie Poskarbiewicz. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 37 years, Loretta (Rodriguez) Poskarbiewicz; children, Jonathan, Elizabeth (Paul) Bowman, Angel, Cede and Joey, III; granddaughter, Ada Bowman; siblings, Stanley (Rose), Jr. and Patricia Blossem; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
