Joseph Michael Mcmanus

Joseph (Joe) Michael McManus, age 68, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on July 26, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. Joe was born on March 19, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Edmund McManus Sr. and Irene (Kerekes) McManus.

Joe worked in the printing industry for over 30 years before opening a local business with his beloved wife, Karen McManus. Joe loved fishing, going to car shows, driving his 1957 Bel Air, hunting for the best Coney dog, and above all, spending time with his wife, Karen, and family.

Through the grace of God and Alcoholics Anonymous, Joe received 47 years of sobriety. He spent his journey through sobriety helping others along their paths. He stuck to his philosophy of: Don't drink, read the book, and go to meetings - and take it one day at a time.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen (Csomos) McManus, whom he married on July 4, 2002; children Joe (Ruth) McManus Jr., James (Amanda) McManus, John (Kate) McManus, and Christina (Charles) Fetzek; grandchildren Katlyn, Corey, Kristian, Logan, Connor, Morgan, Camden, Lucas; great-grandchildren Emmarie, Lilliana, and Isabella; siblings Bridget Lajti, and Darleen Furfaro, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings Irene McManus, Constance Rose McManus, Mary Elizabeth McManus, Edmund McManus Jr., Thomas McManus Sr., Colleen Pastorek, and Robert McManus.

Joe has left us with this message: God has put your life in your hands, take care of it - it is the only one you will ever get.

The family will receive guests Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614. Funeral Services will begin Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00 am., at the funeral home. Joe will be laid to rest at St. Rose Cemetery in Perrysburg, Ohio.
