Joseph L. Yelverton, age 41, after a lifetime of devotion to his family and friends, he departed this life suddenly and has been called into a higher service by the Lord. Joe was called to be with God on Sunday, December 27, 2015. A native of Toledo, Ohio, he was born to Joseph and Patsy (Ostrander) Yelverton on May 13, 1974. Joe attended Bedford High School in Temperance, MI, where he met and married the love of his life, Christina Rodd on November 9, 1996. Joe held many jobs; although currently unemployed, he carried on his love of life, the outdoors and helping others, working to help anyone that was in trouble or need. He was a devout family man who loved his family dearly. Though He has departed this life, He left a legacy of touching the lives of all he met. Joe was known for his kindness and goodness. He will be deeply missed by all.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Christina; son, Caleb; daughters, Brittany and Samantha; parents, Joseph and Patsy; brother, Joshua; sister, Jeaniene; grandmothers, Ellanor Yelverton and Beverly Ostrander; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Joseph B. Yelverton, Sr. and Louis D. Ostrander.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from Noon - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Isham.
