Joseph "Joe" Thomas Kujawski, age 68, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, after a brief, brave fight with leukemia. During his final days, Joe received hospice care at the home of his daughter in Holland, Ohio, where he was surrounded by loving family.
Joe was born to Valentina Kujawski (Rouleau) and Richard Kujawski Sr. on June 8, 1955. He grew up in Swanton with an older and a younger brother, and enjoyed playing outdoors at their rural home. The family later moved to Toledo, and Joe graduated from Rogers High School.
A hard worker, Joe found employment at several Toledo businesses, including Doehler Jarvis, Gino's Pizza, and Dennis Greenhouse, and he also ran a house painting business with his father. Joe retired from North Star Steel in Delta.
Like his father, Joe was good with his hands, and kept busy with projects around the house and yard. For example, Joe found plans for cardboard HDTV antennas on the internet, built several, and eliminated his need for cable service. He valued tools and equipment, and left several full storage units for his family to enjoy.
Joe was a devoted family man, and showed his love in many ways. He enjoyed cooking the holiday dinners for everyone, which usually included delicious kielbasa and pierogis. He often was babysitting his grandchildren in retirement. When his younger brother died, Joe was there for his grieving nephew both as a friend and an uncle.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Susan (Brian) Yourist and Hollie (Bill) Creason; nine grandchildren, Chase, Kirsten, Maya, Alana, Corbin, Devin, Reed, Colbie, and Claire; and great-grandson, Greyson. He is also survived by his brother, Richard and former wife, Kathy Kujawski. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James.
We love you Joe, and you will be very missed.
