Joseph F. Botek, Jr., 84 years of Waterville, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born December 29, 1927 in Toledo to Joseph F., Sr. and Anna (Ousky) Botek. Joe was employed by Columbia Gas of Ohio for 34 years, retiring June 1, 1983. He was an avid horse racing fan and card player.
Left to cherish his memory is loving wife of 49 years, Carole D. Botek, whom he married July 24, 1962; daughter, Pamela Botek Huffman; son, Joseph III (Carol) Botek; grandchildren, Nicholas Bucher Botek, Britten Botek Huffman, Jacob Botek, Zachary Botek and Sydney Botek; special cousins and poker buddies, Joanie (John) Wagner, Sharon Zaborski, Dolores DeTroyer, Mary Ann Fiordelis and Michael Ousky; dear friend and co-worker, Joseph (Fran) Wyatt; horse racing friends, George and Mike Prephan, Jerry Heuerman and Margi Carter; and many other relatives. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by daughter, Joann; and brother, Sam.
There will be no visitation and services will be private. The family would like to thank the nurses at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their support and wonderful care. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
