Joseph N. Alder

Joseph N. Alder, age 69, of Toledo, OH passed away on August 16, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Joe was
born on September 20, 1953, the son of Eugene Alder and Bertha (Smith) Hornsby. He graduated from
Fairfield High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy, aboard nuclear subs. He would
spend his career as a Technical Safety Writer, contracting his services to nuclear power plants around
the country and in France. Joe had a brilliant mind and was a member of Mensa International since the
age of 17. He enjoyed reading, electronics and taking pictures of his travels.

Joe is survived by his siblings Phyllis (Daniel) Santelli, Christopher (Bobbi) Hornsby, Jeffrey Hornsby, Sheri
Hornsby, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents
and his sister Carolyn (Alder) Lindsey.

A private memorial will be held at a date and time elected by the immediate family.
