Johnnie Girl Fitzpatrick, age 95, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Point Place Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 17, 1918 to Jay Ollie and Anna Bowling. Johnnie was a huge Toledo Gold Digger and Toledo Storm fan and loved attending many of their games. In the past she enjoyed going to stock car races all over the Midwest with her late husband, Ashley and rooting for her favorite Nascar driver, Jeff Gordon. Johnnie was a fanatic about playing bingo; she played bingo whenever she had the opportunity. She was a previous member of the Toledo League of Mothers for many years.
Her family will always remember her for her quick wit, candor and how she always put their needs before her own. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Helen (Mac) McDermott; son, Jim (Kathy) Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Rhonda (Dave) Williams and Regina Culp; great-grandchildren, Shayna, Miranda and Jerrica Reiger; David, Christopher and Andrew Williams; son in law, Sam (Becky) Culp; special friend and roommate, Pat Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley; brothers, Lorna Bowling, Glen Smith and Wilbur Smith.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
