John Vollmar

John Vollmar, born November 8, 1963, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2024, profoundly impacting the lives of all who loved him. John worked at the Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant for 32 years, retiring in 2017. John enjoyed watching all sports and was a dedicated University of Michigan fan who celebrated every game with passion and enthusiasm. In his younger days he was an avid softball player. More recently he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and kayaking, but was happiest when spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 37 years Monica, and an adoring father to his daughters Jessica (Thomas) Vollmar and Kayla (Evan) Veler, and his son John (Samantha) Vollmar. He was a proud “Pops” to 14 cherished grandchildren: Jonathan, Jack, Jeffrey, Joslynn, Evelyn, Sylvie, Mac, Daulton, Oliver, Alex, Abel, Anna'Marie, Johnny and Kaylyn. In addition to his immediate family John is survived by his sister Sue (John) Nadolny, brothers Thomas Vollmar and Todd Vollmar, and his nephew TJ (Charity) Vollmar. He will also be missed by his special fur babies Minnie and Daisy. John was preceded in death by his father John Vollmar, his mother Sally Vollmar, his nephew Ryan Nadolny, and his niece Kellyn Wingate. John’s legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and his passing will undoubtedly leave a lasting effect on those he left behind.Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at a Memorial Gathering on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday November 23, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3655 King Rd, Toledo, OH 43617.
