John T. "Jack" McCloskey

John T. "Jack" McCloskey, age 78 of Toledo passed away suddenly Monday, February 21, 2005. Jack was born December 30, 1926 in Toledo. After graduating from Central Catholic High School Jack entered the U.S. Army. He also attended the University of Toledo and then began his career in the petroleum industry overseas. He and his family lived in Venezuela, Libya and Indonesia for 32 years before moving back to Toledo in the early 1980's. Jack was a member of the Elks Lodge #53.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, JoAnn E. (McEwen) McCloskey and their beloved son, Matthew (Penny) McCloskey; two wonderful grandsons, Braden and Colin; brother, Gerald L. (Joan) McCloskey and sister, Rosemary Sweeney. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Richard McCloskey.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Officiating will be Fr. Steve Schroeder. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
