John C. Seawater, age 75, of Swanton, OH passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on April 24, 1945 to Paul and Isabel (Tressler) Seawater in Thompson, Michigan. John was a veteran of the U.S Army and U.S Air Force for 12 years. He then went on to serve in the Army Reserves for 4 years. John enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and canning. He had a passion for music and loved singing. John was the lead singer of "Horse Creek" for many years around Toledo. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke for you. John loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. His smile, spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Arlene Margaret Caddarette; sister, Arlene Rose Hunt; grandson, Michael Burnett II; granddaughter, Brandy Carroll and great-grandson, Oliver Rhett Osborne. John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rose Seawater; children, Brenda (Dan) Ostrander, John (Michelle) Seawater, Vickie (Terry) Sigman, Richard (Jennifer) Carroll, Donna (Carl) Veith, Jerry Carroll, Steven (Sandy) Carroll and Michael (Lisa) Carroll; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Claudia Stasko, James Seawater, and Max Bornson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
