John S. Mason

John S. Mason, age 54, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully from MSA (Multiple System Atrophy) on Thursday, August 6, 2015. He was born on May 21, 1961 to William and Carol Mason in Toledo and William survives. John was a proud 1979 graduate of Whitmer High School where he played football and ran track. He was a devoted employee for nearly 15 years of C-Gate Entry Systems in Sylvania. John enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball for many years. His current interests included reading, watching all sports and tending to his patio garden.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sharon (Zeisloft) Mason; daughters, Mindy Mason, Melissa (Brandon) Weinstein and Molly Mason; granddaughter, Avery Weinstein; brothers, Bill (Ronda) Mason and Mike (Marcia) Mason; sister, Vicki Oehlers; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. John was preceded in death by his mother, Carol; father and mother-in-law, Wayne (Christine) Zeisloft.

The family will receive guests from 3-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
