John F. Rowan

John F. Rowan, age 73, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at home. He was born, the oldest of 12 children on August 4, 1947 John and Marietta Rowan in Toledo. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country during the Vietnam War. John then went on to become a Toledo Police Office, class of 1973, retiring as a Sgt. after many years. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 606 and also enjoyed working there in his later years. John liked spending time with friends and family. His smile spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish John's memory are the love of his life, Mari-Anne "Gi Gi" Bondy; siblings, Mary (Jerry), Jim (Jeri), Ellen, Larry (Gabe), Denny (Helisa), Dawn (Bob), and Mike (Trish); aunt, Phyllis (Denny); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John M. Rowan; canine companion baby girl, aka Sarge; and siblings, Anne Rowan, Terry Rowan, Connie Jacobs and Tim Rowan.

There will be no visitation or services at this time per John's wishes. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
