John R. Tumey

John R. Tumey, age 65, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 12, 1950 to Richard and Jean Tumey in Toledo. John is a retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy (Tumey) Lacasio. John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Diana (Young) Tumey; daughter, Rhonnda (Olie) Mick; grandchildren, Lora (Kevin) Blessing and Jacob Bream; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Jayce; brothers, Dale and Jeff Tumey; sister, Susan (Morris) Fletcher; as well as other family members.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
