John R. "Charlie" Hymore, age 81, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2016. He was born the 11th of 15 children to Bessie and Albert Hymore on June 16, 1935 in Red Jacket, West Virginia.
Charlie retired in 1991 from L.O.F. after 38 years as a Glass Worker. He was instrumental in developing a new glass-handling procedure that is still used today. Charlie was an active member of Faith Bible Baptist. It was important to him for everyone to know the Lord. Charlie was an avid bowler for years with the Red Devils at Rossford Lanes, was a proud member of both the Rossford Fraternal Order of Eagles and Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with his family. Charlie was a hard and selfless worker, creative storyteller, dedicated husband, loving father and doting grandpa.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 27 years, Joyce; children, Sherrie Lynn Hymore, Deborah (Robert) Ostafi, Shelly Hymore, John (Kihm) Hymore Jr., Kimberly (Tim) Whitmore, Tod (Dawn) Schmidt, Korey Schmidt; siblings, Sylvia Carter, Virginia "Pearl" Kline, Ronald Hymore; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; parents and 11 siblings.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).
