John Mixon, Sr.

John A. "Jack" Mixon, Sr., age 76, of Toledo, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 in his home. He was born March 21, 1931 to Alfred and Johanna (Moriarty) Mixon in Toledo. He was the former owner of Jack's Place for 15 years. Prior to that, he was in the printing business for 45 years, operating Mixon and Associates. Jack was a US Veteran and a member of FOE #197. He was a constable with the Washington Township Police Department and an honorary sheriff with Lucas County. Jack was a past President of Anne Grady Corporation and a former member of the Board of Directors with Lott Industries. He was also a proud supporter of the Anne Grady Center, St. Jude Children's Hospital and St. George Greek Orthodox Church for many years. Jack also enjoyed golfing trips with his buddies to Las Vegas and Florida.

Jack is survived by his daughter, VikkiJean Mixon; son, John Mixon, Jr.; sister, Betty Brown; nephews, Jeff (Sherry) and Kevin Brown, both of Florida; Mike (Sue) Brown of Sylvania; Gordon (Vicky) Brown, Jr. of Missouri and niece, Joyce Fry of Maumee.

The family will receive guests Monday from 3-6:30 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin Monday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Fr. Paul Gassios.
