John B. Mayo, age 65, of Toledo passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Merit House, Toledo. John was born on December 13, 1950 to Frank & Betty (Fink) Mayo. A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a self-employed carpenter. A devoted father, John thoroughly enjoyed woodworking. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Alyssa Mayo; Haylee Smith; Corrine Mayo; Christine Mayo and brother, Donald "Butch" (Patricia) Mayo. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Mierzejewski.
The family will receive guests at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday. Burial will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family of John, c/o Alyssa Mayo.
