John Lewis

John M. Lewis, age 71, of Lambertville, Michigan passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the Aspen Grove Care Center, Lambertville, Michigan. He was born November 24, 1940 in Toledo to Vernal and Ethel (Newcomer) Lewis. John retired from Heidtman Steel after many years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, the Tigers and Lions.

Left to cherish John's memory is his daughter, Michelle McCormick; grandson, Mason McCormick; sisters, Naomi (Joseph) Haas and Ellen Mae Walls, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by sister, Lois Hayre and brother, Vernal "Bud" Lewis.

The family will receive guests Friday, March 23, 2012 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, (419-473-0300). Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Erie West Hospice.
