John "Doc" Andrew Janowski, age 74, of Delta, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2021. He was born on January 25, 1946 to the late Andrew and Jeanette (Nowakowski) Janowski in Toledo, Ohio. Doc was a 1964 graduate of Macomber High School. He was employed with Dial Soap (Sinclair) for many years as a Chemical Mixer and then went on to be an Electrician for the University of Toledo, retiring in 2007. Doc honorably served in the United States Navy from December 1965 until November 1969 on the ship, USS Belmont.
Doc moved out of Toledo into the country to start his retirement life in 2007. He was so proud of his home where he loved doing all kinds of projects, enjoying his surroundings and the good country life. Doc had a great sense of humor and always tried to see the positive in everything. His smile and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. As an avid football fan, he loved watching his Pittsburgh Steelers. Doc also looked forward to hanging out with his family and friends and was proud of his children, grandchildren and all their wonderful accomplishments.
In addition to his parents, Andrew Janowski and Jeanette (Vincent) Radecki; he was also preceded in death by his brother, Eugene (Beverly) Janowski; brother, Julius "Jay" Janowski; and sister, Loretta (Edward) Grzechowiak. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Terrie; his special buddy Pops; children, Dawn (Travis) Parker, Lisa (Michael) Prior and Shawn (Rachel) Janowski; 5 grandchildren, John Bieniek, Kayli (Ryan Romig) Bieniek, Rebekah Bieniek, Shawn Janowski Jr., and Alex Janowski; along with his former wife, Linda (Russell) Browning and daughter-in-law, Barbara Lane.
The family would like to give a special "Thank You'' to all the staff in the Covid Intensive Care Unit at St. Anne's Hospital for all their love, care and support during this difficult time.
