John J. Pawlecki, age 70, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born April 20, 1946 in Toledo to Henry and Louise (Manz) Pawlecki. John was a 1965 graduate of Macomber High School with a trade in mechanics. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard Military Police for 6 years, discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. After being honorably discharged, John was employed at Chrysler of Perrysburg. John was president of the Toledo Metro Classic Chevy Club. He loved restoring and showing customized chevy cars and won many awards.
John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Pawlecki; daughters, Cheryl (Chad) Lee and Cynthia (Tim) Veryser; son, Jeffrey (Brooke) Pawlecki; grandchildren, Ashley, Isabelle, Brandon, Anna, Noah, Abigail, Anthony, Thomas and Olivia; brother, Henry (Dorothy) Pawlecki and sister-in-law, Barbara Pawlecki. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Pawlecki.
The family will receive guests Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
