John Huntley, Jr.
January 3, 1947 — June 27, 2021
John Huntley, Jr. (Johnnyman), age 74, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 peacefully at his home. He was born January 3, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Rosa (Goins) Huntley, Sr. After graduating from Woodward High School in 1967 he went on to work at the Ford Motor Company and then Dana Corporation.
Johnnyman was a "Jack-of-all-Trades", he could fix anything from small appliances to major home remodels, which came in handy as he owned numerous homes for more than 20 years. He was a Stickney Legend well known in his community.
Johnnyman loved to fish, camp and travel throughout the US, usually on his motorcycle "Purple Rain" or in his camper. He was very witty he loved several phrases such as "the more I teach you, the dumber you get".
Johnnyman loved his dogs, usually a doberman pinscher/rottweiler. He was known for having the cleanest car in the city! His favorites were his GTO, his deuce and a quarter and of course his cadillac. All were his favorite color red.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Debra Goings; brothers, James and Daniel Thomas, George Huntley, Sr., James and Arthur Huntley and sister, Rose Logan.
Johnnyman is survived by his children, John (Mearlean) Huntley, III, Sharese (Rodney) Wilburn and Tiana Hudson; grandchildren, John Huntley, IV, Karese, Keya, Kya, Karteia Collins, Reyonday Branham, Marcus Jones, Jr. and Leilah Pattin; sisters, Betty McNeal and Tracey Anderson; 7 great grandchildren and dear friend, Delores Gray.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 4752
Heatherdowns Blvd. (419- 381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with
interment to follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
