John E. Horn, age 81, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the comfort of his home. John was born on May 17, 1943, in Mountain City, Tennessee, to the late Howard and Maude Horn.
John worked as a welder for Doehler-Jarvis for 30 long and dedicated years, where he retired in 1995. He was one that was very good with his hands and could fix anything. He also was a big collector on anything and everything, collecting many things throughout his life.
John was an avid classic country/gospel music lover. He was a gospel singer and played the guitar, creating beautiful music. Traveling to numerous places, John was part of the Lighthouse Gospel Singers and Vansickle Family Singers, doing what he loved, singing gospel music.
John loved to travel all over, with his wife, to Aruba, Hawaii, San Diego, and the Great Smokey Mountains, which was their home away from home. He was able to build his dream home where wonderful memories were created. The joys of his life were his family, especially his grandchildren!
Johns smile, love for sweets, and his handy-man ways, will forever be missed by those who knew him. A pillar of strength and a beacon of love, his absence leaves a void in our hearts. This is not goodbye, but we will see him again…
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 60 years, Mary (Daly) Horn, whom he married on August 30, 1963; children, Robin (Lenny) Broderick and John (Tricia St. Meyers) Horn; grandchildren, Michael (Morgan), Kearstin (Tim), Zachary, Jessica, and Tyler; great grandchildren, Emma and Nova; and a sister, Eva Croley.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lynn, Mick, Ann, Bob, and Katherine.
