John H. O'Rourke, Iii

John H. O'Rourke, III, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. He was born June 13, 1932 to John H. and Angela "Peg" (Kennedy) O'Rourke, II in Souix City, Iowa. John was employed with Pacific Telephone Company in California and Ohio Bell and Ameritech for more than 30 years. He was a longtime member of CWA (Communication Workers of America) and Corpus Christi Church. John was also a U.S. Naval combat veteran in the Korean War serving his country proudly.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his grandsons, Brian and Timothy. John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marcia "Marty" (Romaker) O'Rourke; sons, Michael; John E.; David (Annie) and Dennis (Suzanne) O'Rourke; daughters, Mary (Joe) Mason and Sharon Wilson; grandchildren, Peter; Beth Mae; Scott; Jacqueline; Danielle; Kevin; Casey; Dan; Krista; Samantha and Megan; great grandsons, Santino and Samar and lifelong friends, Dan Yates; Wes Hessler and Russ McFarland.

The family will receive guests Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi at the University of Toledo, 2955 Dorr St. Officiating will be Pastor James Bacik. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
