John Foster Fruik
John F. Fruik, age 63 of Toledo passed away Wednesday, February 9th, 2005 surrounded by his loving family in his home. He was born July 21, 1941 to Leonard and Mary Patricia (Furlong) Fruik in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. John was a U.S. Merchant Marine Veteran as well as a member of the Solid Rock Church. He enjoyed crafts of all kinds including crocheting and knitting which helped with his arthritis. John also liked to watch T.V. His favorite shows were the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Smallville and Touched by an Angel.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Geraldine (Grabarczyk) Fruik; children, Mae (Bill) Gerhart; Joann (Dennis) Hiner; Roxanne Coyne; Olen Carr and April Manikowski; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and siblings, Gary (Henrietta) Fruik; Robert Fruik and Mary Noel (John) Gilray.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Stepp.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to American Society or to Visiting Nurse Hospice.
