John F. Thompson

John F. Thompson, age 80, passed away on May 16, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.
John was born on March 5, 1936 in Bessemer, Alabama to John and Jewel (Lawrence) Thompson. John served his country honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War serving on the USS Caloosahatchee (AO98). John was self-employed plumber in the Toledo area for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brother, William H. Thompson. John is survived by his loving Wife, Rose Marie Thompson, Daughters, Melinda (David), Patricia (Gil), Sue Thompson, Deborah (Tim) Shiffler, Sons, John, Frank, Harvey and Ralph Thompson, brothers, James (Dee) Thompson and Kevin Beaver, 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 2 - 6:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. 419-381-1900 with Funeral Services starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors.
