John D. Bednarski

John D. Bednarski, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 20, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born May 4, 1943 in Toledo to Stanley and Eleanor (Lentz) Bednarski. John's parents passed away at a young age and he was raised by his Busia, Stella Lentz. He was a 1961 graduate of Woodward High School where he lettered in baseball, basketball and football. John was employed with the Dana Spicer Corp for 30 years retiring in 1991. The greatest love of John's life was being a Dzia Dzia. He walked his grandchildren to preschool and treasured his time with each of them, especially his "little stinker," Sophie. An avid camper at Twin Acres, John made friends with everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathryn Bednarski, son, Bradley (Michelle) Bednarski, daughter, Tricia Asay; grandchildren, William Garner, Dylan Bednarski and Sophia Asay; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Cindy Zeleski; and niece Alexandria Zeleski. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia Grasley and Stanley "Butch" Bednarski.

The family will receive guests Monday, August 24, 2015 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 6:00 pm. at the funeral home.
