John C. Martin

John C. Martin, age 86, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in the Flower Hospital. He was born August 27, 1920 to Brian H. and Grace (Whitney) Martin in Defiance, Ohio. John was a self-employed grading contractor for many years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. In his younger years John and his wife, Gladys lived in Arizona before moving back to Ohio. He enjoyed traveling and photography and kept a pictorial of his life. John also enjoyed gardening and was a health enthusiast, taking care of himself over the years.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Paul) Nowacki; granddaughter, Kayla; daughter, Judy Martin and Gladys Martin.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
