John "Jack" Birtwhistle, age 73, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 3, 1939 to Gilbert and Bertha (Blus) Birtwhistle in Toledo. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He owned his own construction company for over 40 years, Birtwhistle Construction. Jack had a true passion for building and remodeling homes and in his free time he loved to travel all over the United States with his late wife, Jean in their motorhome. His family will remember him as a simple man who took great pride in caring for his family and he valued the time that was spent with them.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Jacquiline Haemmerle (fiancé, Matt Cavins); beloved grandson, Tyler Logan Cavins; siblings, Robert, Donald and Wilfred "Billy" (Cindi) Birtwhistle and Josephine (Tony) Bruns. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Jean.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
