John A. Baer

John A. Johnny" Baer, age 52, of Toledo, formerly of Erie, MI, passed away peacefully Monday, April 4, 2022 with loving family by his side. He was born on July 3, 1969 to Vernon and Shirley (Brock) Baer in Toledo, OH. Johnny worked as a diesel truck mechanic for over 30 years before retiring. He was diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Michigan Wolverines. Johnny enjoyed riding his Harley and being on the road. He liked camping, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Johnny had a great sense of humor and liked to have a good time. He could be seen with a Jack Daniels and Coke in hand or a cold beer. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hobie Baer; grandparents, Vernon and Mary Baer and John Brock; niece, Savannah Sprayberry; and uncle, Kenny Balcerzak. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Anthony "AJ" Baer; mother, Shirley Baer; longtime girlfriend, Trish O'Dell; siblings, Vernon (Penny) Baer, Ronnie Baer and Marie Siedlecki; grandmother, Christine Brock; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Erie Union Cemetery, Erie, MI.
