John A. Forbes, Sr.

John A. Forbes, Sr., age 83, of Luckey, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Bay Park Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1928 to Charles and Minnie Forbes in Toledo. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country proudly. He was the former owner of Midstate Collision and worked for many years at West End Collision. John enjoyed camping, watching wrestling and Nascar. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and grandchildren. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wally, Chuck, Darryl and Eddie; and sisters, Margaret, Ivadell and Virginia. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Louella Forbes; children, John (Linda) Forbes, Jr., Jack (Melody) Forbes, Patti (Ted) Sperry and Brian Forbes; grandchildren, John III (Sabrina), Marci (Mike), Mackenzie, Miranda, Jack Jr. (Virginia), Joshua, Michelle (Dwayne), Greg (Alicia), Gary (Amber), Kelly (Ryan), Brian Jr., Amanda, and Pam; great-grandchildren, Damian, Austin, Samantha, Emily, Haylee, Josh Jr., Dillon, Dwayne, Zachary, Nichole, Emily and Ava;sister, Lillian Forbes; and brother, George (Pauletta) Forbes, Sr.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
