Joanne B. Zacharias

Joanne B. (Grycza) Zacharias, age 72, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on June 22, 1950 to Frank and Rose (Cisek) Grycza in Toledo, Ohio. Joanne graduated in 1968 from DeVilbiss High School. She worked as a billing clerk for over 10 years at the Neighborhood Health Association. Joanne was a member of St. John the XXIII for over 10 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing word searches, bird watching, and playing bingo. In her younger years, Joanne and her family liked camping and being in the outdoors. Joanne's pride and joy was her family, especially her two granddaughters; they were the light of her life. Her caring nature, smile and spirit will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Robert "Bob" Zacharias. Left to cherish Joanne's memory is her loving daughter, Lisa (Gregory) Kierczak; granddaughters, Audrey and Brianne; siblings, Steve (Barb) Grycza, Gary (Barb) Grycza and Cheryl (Brian) Janson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Mass will begin Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the XXIII, 24250 N. Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, OH 43551 with visitation in church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Otterbien of Perrysburg.
