Joanne Ruth Becker

Joanne Ruth (Cooper) Becker, age 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away December 5, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 19, 1927 in Toledo to Harry and Cathryn (Williams) Cooper. Joanne graduated from Libbey High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart, Fred Becker, Sr. in 1947. Joanne enjoyed gardening, flowers and her cats, but the greatest love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are Joanne's children, Cathryn Jo (Michael) Kaminski, Jeffery C. (Connie) Becker, Fred A. (Nadine) Becker Jr., grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Gearhart, Michelle (David) Poeppelmeier, Jeffery (Tamara) Becker, and Nicole (Jeremy) Graves, great-grandchildren, Austin, Austen, Addison, David, Carolyn and Libby and sister, Carolyn (Donald) Lewis. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred Becker Sr.

The family will receive guests Monday, December 9, 2013 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 2770 West Central Ave., Toledo Ohio. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Friends of Family for all the care and compassion given to Joanne and her family.
