Joanne (Carnes Hardy) Poleski went to be with Jesus on July 3, 2014. She gave her heart to Jesus in 1970. She retired from Sylvania City Schools in 1996 with 30 years of service as a bus driver 17 years and custodian at McCord Junior High School for 13 years. Joanne enjoyed her Bible Study Ladies, her church, Calvary Assembly of God and was known as a prayer warrior. Joanne also loved the Senior's on Shot's Thursday afternoon Bowling League.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Irvain "Shot" Poleski; sons, Bob Hardy Jr., Steven Hardy and Eric Hardy; grandsons, Luke and Tony Hardy; sister-in-law, Rosie Carnes; nieces Denice Carnes and Teresa Jo (Shon) Comparin and nephew, David Carnes. Joanne had many special kids she prayed for, mentored and mothered, Keith Carnes and his children, Jacob and Coner who called her "Grandma Jo," Donna and Abe Geha and Debi and Shawn Scarrott. Special friends, Holly and Rob Sindelar and her daughter, Leah Jo; Kim Williams and her children, Annie, Kari and Corbin who also called her "Grandma Jo." Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruth Carnes; brothers, Donald "Jim" Carnes and Denny Carnes.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). We will then proceed to Calvary Assembly of God, 1360 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio for the Funeral Service and Tribute to Joanne at 2:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in Joanne's memory.
