Joanne Louise Diaz

God's garden just got a little more colorful. With her family surrounding her, Joanne stepped over the threshold from this life to be with God and her heavenly family on October 21, 2018.

Joanne was born in North Baltimore on January 21, 1934 to Louis and Belle Toth. On April 8, 1967, she married the love of her life, Lorenzo A. Diaz.

A colorful character all of her life, she made life exciting for all who knew her. She never met a stranger, befriending everyone she met. She was happiest when helping others and served as lunch lady when her children were in school, then as a nurse's aide at the Toledo Health & Retiree Rehabilitation Center. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She thoroughly enjoyed talking with her grandchildren and was excited by their visits.

Joanne leaves to share her stories and humor her children, Lorenzo T., Josie and Jimmy, step-daughter, Larrietta and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Larry; daughter, Susie; sons, Bucky and Todd; step-son Ben and brother, Gerald.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
