Joanna L. Geer, age 87, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Genesis of Perrysburg surrounded by loving family. She was born on December 11, 1930 to Wesley and Lillian (Gustafson) Gebhard in St. Paul, Minnesota. Joanna retired after many years from the City of Toledo Water Department. She was a longtime member of Calvary Bible Chapel. Joanna was a VBS worker, Sunday school teacher and started the missions program. She was a talented writer; writing for work, for church and family. Joanna loved the Lord and shared Christ with all those around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former spouse and friend, Donald Geer; brother, Wesley Gebhard; and sister, Pauline Ziegler. Joanna is survived by her loving children, Susan (Jim) Parent, Harold (Debbie) Geer and Donald (Vicki) Geer; daughter-in-law, Jackie Geer; grandchildren, Alexander, Brigid (Ryon), Corey (Samantha), Barry, Rachel, Wesley and Robbie; great-granddaughters, Halie and Lilly; 1 great-great-grandson, Ryan; sister, Geraldine Bowker; and many other family members and dear friends.
