Joann McCally, born on July 7, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Sylvania, Ohio. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many during her 88 remarkable years.

Joann dedicated over 17 years to Washington Local Schools as a cafeteria worker, spending the majority of that time at Washington Junior High School. Her love for children was evident in her work, where she created a warm and welcoming environment for all students. Joann’s commitment to nurturing young lives was one of her proudest accomplishments, and she carried that passion into her family life, cherishing her grandchildren above all else.

A graduate of DeVilbiss High School in 1955, Joann was a person of quiet strength and warmth. She had an innate ability to bring joy to those around her. Joann enjoyed her trips to the casino and cherished the time spent playing cards and bingo with her husband, Tom. Joann's interests were diverse and enriching. A devoted reader, she found solace in the pages of her books. Her love for gardening was evident as her home was often adorned with fresh flowers lovingly cultivated from her own garden. Growing up, the family cherished summers at their cottage at Rose Lake in Coldwater, Michigan, where many happy memories were created.

Her television was often tuned to her favorite soap operas, a small delight that punctuated her days. Joann made lasting friendships, which added color to her life. She enjoyed a card club for over 20 years with Tom, making all the more treasured moments filled with laughter and love.

Joann leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and familial devotion. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Goldsworthy, son Bill McCally and his wife Kim, and daughter Susan Martin and her husband Blaine. Her precious grandchildren Scott Goldsworthy, Amy Phillips and her husband Dan, April McCally, Anthony McCally, Courtney Way, Joshua Way and his wife Jenna, Tom Martin and his wife Courtney, along with Alison Webster and her husband Ryan, Andy Martin and his wife Staci, also survive her, alongside a host of great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
