Joan Stampflmeier

Joan M. Stampflmeier, age 81 of Toledo passed away on Monday, June 13th, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 4, 1929 to Wayne and Mary (Horvath) Wells in Harbor View, Ohio. Joan was a 1947 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She married Michael J. Stampflmeier on August 16, 1947 in Toledo and they shared 63 wonderful years. Joan enjoyed tending to her flower garden and her rose bushes. For holiday dinners she hosted and prepared the meal for her family, whom she dearly loved spending time with. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting, she crocheted many afghans, scarves, hats for her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Michael; children, Janet (Lee) Kwasniak, Richard (Shirley) Stampflmeier and Tom (Judy) Stampflmeier; grandchildren, Laurie Kwasniak, Ron Kwasniak, Lisa Zaleksi, Beverly Kincaid, David Burk, Scott Stampflmeier, Jaime Stampflmeier, Tricia Stampflmeier, Nicholas Stampflmeier, Kristen Stampflmeier and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Burk; twin brother, George Wells and brother, John Wells.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
