Joan Mcnutt

Joan M. McNutt, age 93, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 26, 1928, to the late Joseph and Julia (Neist) Mauss.

Joan was a loving and dedicated homemaker, taking care of her husband and six children; her children were her life. Family was everything to her; she enjoyed the family get-togethers and cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. Joan was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church for over 70 years, where she and her family would walk five blocks to church every Sunday. She recently attended the 110 years dedication of the sanctuary. Joan loved to sew, quilt, tending to her garden, and playing cards at the Ottawa River Yacht Club, where she was an active member. Joan will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving six children, Joseph (Sandy) McNutt, Diane Goff, Rebecca (Edwin) Rider, Steven McNutt, William McNutt, Terry (Nathan) Freeman; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother, Carl Mauss and his daughters, Joyce Mangus and Cindy Mauss; a special niece, Teddy Smith; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McNutt, whom she married on February 21, 1947; grandson, Ike Goff; and two sisters, Norma Giaser and Irma Burnett.

Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home. 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, with the funeral service at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Martin Billmaier officiating. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
