Joan Louise Crider

Joan Louise Crider, age 74, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 16,2021.

She was born to the late Wayne and Violet Moser on September 14, 1946 in Ada, Ohio. Joan graduated from Ada High School and attended the University of Toledo. She met William O. Crider Jr. at a Stevie Wonder concert on their shared birthday in 1965. The couple later went on to wed in Monroe, Michigan on February 11, 1966.

Joan was baptized in Jesus' name and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1967 under Elder Ernest Cross and was a faithful member of Church of God Apostolic located in Swanton, Ohio. She enjoyed serving as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, and church secretary. Joan had unconditional love for her family and effortlessly gave of herself. She enjoyed family vacations with some of her favorite destination spots being anywhere out West, Myrtle Beach, and Cape Cod. She enjoyed watching TV game shows and court TV and would never miss an episode of Family Feud with Steve Harvey. Joan was the greatest scrabble challenger in the world, even to the end.

Left to cherish Joan's memory is her husband, William Crider Jr; 3 children, Dana (Roger) Allee of Whitehouse, Ohio, William (Allison) Crider III of Toledo, Ohio, and Sarah (Thembi) Hall of Maumee, Ohio; brother, Donald Moser of Ada, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her son, Solomon Crider; and parents Wayne and Violet Moser.

Family will be receiving guests from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614 (419 381 1900). Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the funeral home. Funeral Services for Joan are private and for the immediate family, and she will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
