Joan M. Chase, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 75 in Toledo, Ohio. Born on February 5, 1949, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she graduated from Port Clinton High School and went on to embrace a career as a waitress in the Port Clinton area, where she was known for her remarkable dedication and warm spirit.
Joan's life was marked by her independent and fun loving personality. She was a woman of great faith, whose generous nature touched the lives of many. Joan loved her family deeply, willing to do anything for them, and she found joy in her hobbies, particularly her artistry and loved going to the movies. Her proudest accomplishments included raising her children and creating a vibrant life for herself after the passing of her husband, Kevin Chase.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Reed, and husband Chad; her sons, Stephen Chase, and wife Rachel, and Christopher Chase. Joan was also a cherished grandmother to Skyler Reed, Maria Chase, Lydia Chase, Julia Chase, Ireland Burras, and Willow Chase. She is additionally survived by her brother, James VonEitzen, and wife Barbara.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Kevin Chase, and her brother, Roger VonEitzen.
Joan's gathering of friends and family will be held on October 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, located at 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. The family invites all who knew and loved Joan to join them in celebrating her remarkable life and the indelible mark she made on those around her.
