Joan Carrol Kennedy Keil Hoover, age 77, of Maumee, Ohio formerly of Toledo, Catawba Island, Mississippi and Texas, passed away March 9, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo. She was born November 12, 1938 in Toledo to the late Charles and Violet (Atkinson) Kennedy.
Joan graduated from Libbey High School in 1956. She married Daniel G. Keil in June of 1958 and together they had two beautiful daughters. Danny passed in 1994. Joan was employed as the Chief Telephone Operator for 20 years with Libbey-Owens-Ford. She married John F. Hoover in December of 1982. John passed in 2008. To promote John's business, they regularly attended all the major furniture markets throughout the world. Joan was his ultimate "Gal Friday." During this time, Joan also started and marketed her own small business, "Sweet Pea Pet Beds." She also worked for a time as a Sales Associate for State Aerial Farm Statistics.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Dana Bollin and Beth (Hugo Heinze) Keil; grandchildren, Erika Fall and Daniel Bollin; special friend, Don Pierce Sr. and her life-long friends, Suzanne, Gloria, Shelby and Heather.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Donald Hickey and his staff and the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their wonderful care.
